Some things we forgot to remember.

Since LongDog arrived on the scene, human has been reminded of a number of things that had been forgotten about life with a puppy teen. Such as, the vast number of everyday things that can tempt a young dog’s chewy and tearing up urges, like paper towels, tissues, toilet roll, balls of yarn, bits of twig from the garden, letters, pen tops, pencils, pine cones, logs from the log basket and newspaper. All of which can go a long way to cover a floor, once they have been shredded and enthusiastically scattered.

Human is also reminded that several aspects of human-dog interaction, such as loose-lead walking and recall, are things that need practice. Lots of it. And that young dogs have energy. Lots of it. Just ask Skinny. There is a whole lot of racing (and chasing) going on nowadays, much of which Skinny had, until recently, grown out of.

But most of all, human has been reminded of how much one whippet likes another. So watching SLW and his new roomy get to know one another, and find themselves soul mates, has been a very lovely thing.
